NEW DELHI, Feb 6: For those who are planning a holiday to some of the beautiful places in south India and Goa and that too within budget, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has something special for them. IRCTC, a subsidiary of the Indian Railways, has announced the launch of four Bharat Darshan special train packages from Delhi and Chandigarh, which would stretch from mid-February through mid-April.
Travellers would get an opportunity to visit some of the popular destinations in south India and Goa. According to an IRCTC official, these all-inclusive rail packages would comprise of the country’s famous destinations through a mix of religious and historical monuments.
Both Delhi and Chandigarh would have two packages each, and the cost of all-inclusive package per person would be Rs 830 per day. The first package from Delhi, would consist of 13 nights and 14 days trip and start from February 14 from the Safdarjung station and conclude on February 27 .
Passengers would visit Goa, Ernakulam, Padmanabhan Temple in Thiruvnanthapuram, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram-Ramnath temple and Tirupati Balaji. The train would cross through Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Bina and Bhopal, he added. The second package, which would begin on March 16 from Delhi and end on 28 has an itinerary of 12 nights and 13 days with destinations including Tirupati Balaji, Kamakshi temple, Rameswaram, Ramnath temple, Meenakshi temple, Kanyakumari, Mysore and Bengaluru.
The first package from Chandigarh for South India would be of 12 nights and 13 days — from March 1 to 13 — where passengers can visit Tirupati Balaji, Kamakshi temple, Rameswaram, Ramnath temple, Meenakshi temple, Kanyakumari, Mysuru and Bengaluru. The train would traverse through Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Delhi Cantt, Rewari, Jaipur, Agra Cantt, Jhansi, Bina and Bhopal.
The other package from Chandigarh would be from March 31 to April 13 which would be of 13 nights and 14 days trip. The itinerary includes Goa, Ernakulam, Padmanabhan temple, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Ramnath temple and Tirupati Balaji. All packages include confirmed train tickets, sightseeing, accommodation and vegetarian food, besides facilities of security guards and housekeeping, the official said. (UNI)
