DODA, June 8: A seminar on “Women Empowerment” was organized by 5th Battalion of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) at Government Higher Secondary School, Chiralla, Sewa, Thathri, district Doda under Civic Action Programme (CAP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP).
On the occasion, IGP, AP/IRP Jammu PR Manhas was the chief guest and Vijay Singh Samyal, DIG IRP South Range Jammu was the guest of honour. The function was presided over by DK Slathia, Commandant, IRP 5th Battalion, Beoli Doda and attended by officials of various Government Departments.
The students from Government Higher Secondary School, Chiralla, Sewa, Thathri, district Doda and other institutions participated in the said programme and expressed their views on the topic.
During the seminar Insha Yaseen and Haroon Ahmed secured first and second positions respectively, whereas Sumeera Banoo and Sumaya Banoo shared third position.
IGP PR Manhas along with other dignitaries awarded the winners with mementos and dictionaries.
For the welfare of the students, various items including 2 coir matting, 50 desks, 2 computers, 2 printers, 2 UPS, 2 computer tables, 2 computer chairs, one water tanks, 2 almirahs, 24 plastic chairs, sports kits of different games and other miscellaneous items were provided to the institution.
While addressing the gathering, PR Manhas stressed upon the importance of education and made students/teachers aware about the present competition in the field of education.
Mr Manhas asked the school authorities to pay due attention towards co-curricular activities which is also an integral part of education.
In the end, DK Slathia presented vote of thanks.
