JAMMU, May 8: The IRP 9th Battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police today conducted a programme at Thopal Batote under Civic Action Programme.
The programme was organized under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary, Commandant IRP 9th Battalion and it was chaired by Jagjit Singh, Principal Higher Secondary School Batote. The Zonal Education Officer Batote was the guest of honour.
Nearly 120 students and children from various schools including Middle School Dhralta, Primary School Thore, Girls Primary School Bhasyal, Middle School Thopal and GPS Haldru participated in the programme along with the teachers and parents.
A large bulk of stationery items procured by the police under Civic Action Programme were distributed on spot among the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Batote Jagjeet Singh highlighted role of police in the society and appreciated the efforts of police in facilitating the education to the poor children by providing them the necessary study materials and stationeries.
Senior Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary stressed for having cordial police-public relations. He asserted that the children are future of the nation and required to be properly nourished both by educational institutions and at the family level. He stressed upon the students to stay away from drugs and other social evils.
