SRINAGAR, Dec 1: J&K Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society has appealed the Chief Engineer M&RE, Kashmir who is also the convener of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of PDD for Kashmir to issue the promotion and regularisation orders of 2000 workers of PDD.
In a joint statement issued here, today the chairman of the Society and veteran Trade Union leader Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani and P N Raina its convener said that despite conducting DPC in January this year the authorities have failed to issue the promotion orders of the workers cleared by the Committee.
They said the unnecessary delay caused in issuing orders has led to resentment among the employees of the Department. They wanted to know the cause of the delay and urged the Chief Engineer M&RE Kashmir to issue the orders without further delay.
Mir said on the one hand the Government is claiming transparency and justice while on the other hand the genuine and deserving people are being made to suffer by the authorities for no fault of theirs. He said the employees working on daily wages for years together were to be promoted and regularized under SRO381 of 1981 and though one year is near to pass when the DPC was conducted the regularization orders have not been issued till date which is a cause of concern.
