JAMMU, Mar 17: Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society J&K president, Mir Ghulam Rasool Boutvani and its State secretary, D N Sadhu along with other members have made an appeal to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha that directions be passed to the concerned for issuance of Golden Cards on fast track basis and clarification with regard to entitlement of benefit and for purchase of life saving medicines through Golden Cards, so that young, old aged and retried persons as well as others having serious ailments may get benefit of this scheme.
Besides , fresh survey and census 2021 of whole UT of J&K needs to be taken in hand so that left out persons born from 2011 to 2021 are included in the health scheme already launched by the Prime Minister for the residents of J&K.
In a statement issued here, today they said UT of J&K is on job for preparation of Ayushman Golden Cards for its residents but the process is very slow with the result the people in general and retired persons as well as senior citizens in particular having serious ailments are facing difficulties in absence of Golden Cards to get the free treatment.
It has also been observed that these Golden Cards are issued on the basis of census of 2011 conducted by the Government but then lakhs of people may remain out of this health scheme who were born during last 10 years from 2011 to 2021 thereby deprived of the benefit of Golden Cards which is quite injustice with these persons, they said.
Besides there are thousands of people young or old in the UT who are in need of life saving medicines and the medicine is continuously required by them without any prescription and regular checkup of Government doctor therefore the method for purchase of life saving medicines through Golden Cards need clarification by the authorities, they added.
