Ist batch pays obeisance at Budha Amarnath shrine

POONCH, Aug 10: While first batch of pilgrims paid their obeisance at Shri Budha Amarnath shrine at Mandi  town, about 22 kms from here, the second batch of 81 pilgrims left for Poonch from Jammu base camp this morning.
Official sources said that first batch of 1530 pilgrims, having night stay at Poonch town left for the shrine at Mandi from here in the morning. The pilgrims after offering prayers and performing Darshan left for Jammu. Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the District Administration for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Yatra.
Meanwhile, second batch of 81 pilgrims reached Poonch town this evening. The pilgrims were received by some senior officers in the District Administration, Nodal Officer and members of the reception committee including prominent locals of the town. Apart from this batch, about 45 more pilgrims from various parts of Jammu region arrived the town here this evening in their own vehicles.   They accorded reception at  Sunderbani,  Rajouri, Bhimber Gali  and Surankote. Army also made arrangements for their tea and snacks at BG and Surankote.
