JAMMU, Jan 3: A K Thatai, Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K called on G R Sufi, Chief Information Commissioner here today and apprised him of progress made in collection of taxes with particular reference to Kashmir valley.
Accompanied by R K Kakar and Rakesh Kumar, Joint Commissioners of Income Tax, Mr Thatai also apprised CIC of the compliance being ensured on the RTI matters in Jammu and Kashmir by the Income Tax Department.
The Commissioner of Income Tax also informed CIC that early disposal of RTI matters relating to non-receipt of refunds by the assessees is also contributing to the settlement of grievance petitions filed by assessees before the department. Chief Information Commissioner expressed his satisfaction in the matter of compliance of RTI matters.
