IT deptt holds awareness camp cum seminar

RAJOURI, June 20: Income Tax (IT) Department today organized an awareness camp cum seminar for traders of Rajouri.
Businessmen and representatives of various traders’ associations of Rajouri participated in the seminar. Drawing and disbursing officers of different departments were also present on the occasion.
The event was presided over by SK Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-2, Jammu along with Romesh Kumar Sharma, ITO Rajouri and MB Raizada, ITO Samba. The speakers of seminar covered the topics of widening of tax base, timely filing of Income Tax and TDS returns along with payment of due taxes.
The representatives of Beopar Mandal acknowledged the views expressed by Additional Commissioner of Income Tax and assured that the tax base will be definitely increased up to the satisfaction of the department. They also offered their support to spread the message of widening of tax base amongst the business class of far flung areas of Rajouri district.
At the end of the seminar, an interactive session was held and various queries raised by the participants were resolved. During the seminar, the Department sought cooperation from the tax payers to realize the dream of a corruption free India and also reminded the participating citizens of their valuable role in nation building through proper and timely payment of due taxes.
