JAMMU, June 24: Depar-tment of Information Technology, Jammu and Kashmir organized a workshop on usage and applications of digital signature certificate at Kargil.
Fida Hussian Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC-Kargil chaired the workshop and expressed his concern over the lack digital connectivity of citizens of Kargil with rest of the country who are otherwise isolated due to difficult geographical terrain.
He welcomed the initiative of Information Technology Department and the Department of Electronics and Information Technology Government of India for initiating the technology awareness in the region.
He also expressed his gratitude to Minister of Information Technology, Feroze Khan and Commissioner Secretary IT, Bipul Pathak for considering Kargil as a first to commence this awareness workshop.
Several officers from district administration, Police Department, Judiciary, Health Department, Education Department, Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Forest, Tourism, PDD and other departments participated in the workshop.
Munish Chander, Senior Consultant, IT Department, apprised the participants about the various e-Governance initiatives under National e-Governance Plan of GoI and other initiatives taken by the State in this regard.
He emphasized the need of using Digital Signature Certificates for secure workflow management.
