ITI employees’ delegation meets Asgar, projects issues

JAMMU, Feb 14: A delegation of J&K ITI Employees United Front led by its president, Nazir Ahmed Molvi met the Principal Secretary, Skill Development, Asgar Samoor at Civil Secretariat here today in presence of Director Finance and other officers and projected the issues of the employees and various Technical Institutes.
During meeting the members of Employees United Front projected the pending issues of the employees of the department / ITIs . They pointed out that a large number of posts have been created and re-designated but the recruitment rules have not been updated. They demanded that the new rules be finalized at an earliest as this work was pending for the last several years.
They alleged that a slow progress in this regard, has created resentment among the employees. Many of the employees of various cadres are facing stagnation since long. They demanded that regular DPC be conducted as it is pending since long. New machinery and equipment be procured for workshops in the training institutes, they suggested.
Nazir said the Training institutes need modernization as per the demand of highly skilled people in the new market. There is urgent need to make strong `Placement Cell’ functional for the ITI pass out students. He further pointed out that salary of VTIP faculty members has not been released by the department for the last 2-3 years and they are suffering badly.
Samoon listened to the issues of the employees patiently and assured to address them on priority basis.
Nazir Ahmed was accompanied by other Front members including-Mubashir Ahmed, Altaf Ahmed Dar, Shafiqullah, Aslam Khan, Karan Singh, Naresh Sharma, Mohd Yunis and Sajad Ahmed.
