JAMMU, Mar 18: A delegation from the J&K ITI Employees United Front, led by its Union Territory president and National vice president, Nazir Ahmed Molvi, met Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo at Civil Secretariat, Jammu, to discuss pressing concerns related to the Skill Development Department.
During the meeting, the delegation including vice-president Naresh Sharma secretary Karan Singh and other members, raised several key demands, including the finalization of recruitment rules and the uniform designation and nomenclature for Vocational Instructors (VI) and Group Instructors (GI).
They also emphasized the need for re-organization of the Skill Development Department and the regularization of contractual, consolidated, and academic vocational instructors, along with IMC and VTIP staff who have completed over ten years of service. Additionally, they demanded release of pending salaries for VTIP scheme staff and enhancing wages for vocational instructors and guest faculty working against vacant posts. The construction of Workshop Block B at Government ITI Jammu was also highlighted as an urgent requirement.
The Chief Secretary assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed on priority. He instructed the Administrative Secretary of the Skill Development Department to take necessary action at the earliest.
