SRINAGAR, Nov 17: Students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district today protested against a teacher and accused him of misbehaviour.
The students of ITI told Excelsior that a teacher, Murtaza, who is a Trade Inspector, resorted to abuses and threatened them. “Whenever he comes to class he abuses us. His conduct is very poor and whenever we tell him to behave; he resorts to abuses and threatens us. He also uses his mobile in the class and never focuses on teaching,” the students complained.
Seeking transfer of the Trade Inspector, the students said that they approached Supervisor but he refused to act. “We then approached Deputy Commissioner but could not meet him,” they said.
Superintendent of the ITI Pulwama, Bashir Ahmad Beigh admitted that the conduct of Trade Inspector is not well with the students. “I know his behavior. I had put him on suspension”.
Assuring action, Bashir said: “Tomorrow I will go there and look into the matter. I assure you that we will act against him.”
