NEW DELHI : Alia Bhatt-starrer “Dear Zindagi” is doing a decent business despite the currency crisis in the country and the actress says it is quite “relieving”.
The demonetisation move has affected the business of several films which hit the theatres after November 9.
The 23-year-old actress says though they were all extremely tensed before the release of the Gauri Shinde film, which released on November 25, deep down she knew that it would do good.
“It’s very relieving that the film is getting such a great response. We all were very worried about it. But, I think if a film is good, it will always do well,” Alia said.
“May be it must have hit us about 5-10 per cent but still it’s getting a lot of love. And, I feel very grateful. I’m really happy.”
“Dear Zindagi” has marked Alia’s first ever collaboration with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who heaped praises on the actress during their recent appearance in a talk show, saying the “2 States” star ‘is too good too soon’.
When asked what she thinks about SRK’s advice to take up easy roles, Alia says, “Shah Rukh made a very valid point about the too good too soon thing. We’ve discussed it at length as well.
“It’s just more about not clearing or doing the so called bad movies or so called bad cinema, which people assume is bad but it actually is much anticipated.”
The actress says she will follow the advice given by the superstar.
“He comes with a great experience and I think he’s right. I’ll follow whatever he has advised me. I also feel very lucky I would not say it’s a blessing but I feel very grateful that I’ve got to work with him.”
Alia is also looking forward to her upcoming romantic drama “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” alongside Varun Dhawan.
“I’m excited for it. The film is almost over. And, it’s a pure Hindi ‘desi ghee mein mixed’ served love story.”
This is the third time Alia and Varun are teaming up for a movie after previously starring together in “Student of the Year” and “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”. (AGENCIES)
