IUST to hold second convocation on June 24

SRINAGAR, June 13: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is set to hold its second convocation ceremony on June 24, 2023, at the University Campus.
A spokesperson of the university said Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, who is Chancellor of the University, will preside over the event.
The university spokesperson announced that more than three thousand students from the batches 2020-2022 will be conferred with degrees during the ceremony. “The breakdown of graduates includes 1,726 from the School of Engineering & Technology, 474 from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, 219 from the School of Sciences, 332 from the School of Business Studies, 254 from the School of Health Sciences, and 16 Ph.D. recipients. Additionally, 74 students will be awarded Gold Medals, while 147 students will receive merit certificates,” he said.
He said that the prestigious event will feature Prof. Kasturirangan as the Chief Guest. Prof. Kasturirangan, a distinguished figure in the field of space science, is a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awards.
