NEW DELHI, Sep 10:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took stock of the relief operations in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir as authorities battled hard to rescue marooned people.
Top military officials including IAF’s Director General of Air Operations Air Marshal SB Deo and senior Army officers from the Directorate General of Military Operations briefed the Prime Minister on the efforts made by the services, sources said.
Besides members of the Crisis Management Group, officials from the armed forces and various other departments were also present, they said.
The Prime Minister also took stock of availability of food grains in the State as the priority will shift to providing relief in terms of food to displaced people.
The Army has deployed more than 30,000 troops in the relief operations while the IAF has pressed 80 aircraft in action including the C-17 transport aircraft along with helicopters. (AGENCIES)
