Jabbar’s concern over migrants’ plight

JAMMU, Sept 10: Sheikh Ishafaq Jabbar, senior Congress leader of the State and Member State Kissan Advisory Board (J&K Govt) expressed his great concern over the plight of Kashmiri Migrants sitting at indefinite fast and dharna at Jagti near here and impressed upon the Union Government not to delay the decision on the proposal submitted by the State Government regarding enhancement of relief in view of the miseries faced by the relief holders. He expressed his full support and coordination to the Kashmiri migrants on this pertinent issue.
After conducting tour of various migrants’ camps in Jammu region along with other Party functionaries viz. Vinod Pandit, Romesh Koul, Bharat Bhushan Karilholu, Anil Pandita, he expressed great concern about the apathetic condition of migrants and the burning issues like enhancement of relief , encroachment/illegal land grabbing of their immovable property in Valley.
He further impressed upon the State Government to implement Immovable Migrant Property Act 1997 in true letter and spirit ,as thousands of complaints regarding land grabbing/encroachment of migrant property in Valley have been received during his visit from people concerned. He also urged the State Government to make this law more accountable and practical as Kashmiri migrants are part and parcel of this secular State and put thorough check on this illegal practice.
