JAC condemns Govt for untimely transfer of DSE

JAMMU, Mar 23: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of All Jammu Kashmir Ladakh Teachers Federation (JKLTF) and All Jammu Kashmir State Pensioners Association (JKSPA) today condemned the Government for the recent untimely transfer of Director of School Education (DSE), Jammu, who hardly served the office for two months.
“Her transfer is a matter of great loss to the teacher community and damage to Education department. It exposed the high inefficiency of Government, who does not want such honest officers in the chair for scheduled time”, said general secretary of JKSPA, Madan Lal Abrol, addressing the media persons here today.
Abrol stated that during her short stay in the office, the Director performed her duties in a remarkable way and exhibited qualitative service spirit in solving the burning problems of the teacher fraternity. She issued promotion orders of hundreds of School Education Officers, which were lying pending for the last so many years. She was just about to release the promotion order of 1000 teachers as Masters, when she was transferred, he added.
The Joint Action Committee further highlighted the demands of employees and pensioners, which included release of 6th Pay Commission arrears to the pensioners and employees in one installment, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, rationalized transfer policy and promotion policy, and release of selection grade to graduate teachers pending since 2005.
The leaders also stressed for filling vacant posts of masters, 10+2 lecturers, Education Officers and 10+2 principals in the department besides, adjusting the teachers, masters and 10+2 lecturers in their own locality.
Besides, Abrol, ML Sharma, Kuldeep Bhart, SL Sharma, GL Bhagat, Mohinder Singh, Tej Ram, KK Sharma and Mehar Singh also spoke on the occasion.
