Jagti camp allottees constitute adhoc body

JAMMU, June 11: Non camp Jagti quarter allottees living in rented accommodations in a meeting here today said that those non camp allottees who have been allotted quarters at Jagti and whose names exist in the list should not be deleted.
The meeting however said that the allottees have no objection if doubtful families having their own houses are deleted from the list without touching the genuine migrants putting up in rented accommodations for the last 23 years and living a hand to mouth life.
The meeting assured full cooperation to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner in case it takes initiative to re-verify such doubtful families so that the quarters are allotted to genuine migrants.
The meeting however opposed the procedure of draw of lots saying that this exercise has already been done in preparing the list of allottees. The meeting expressed the hope that the process of allotting the quarters will be initiated soon.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Omkar Nath constituted an adhoc body with Karan Choudhary as its president.
Other office bearers included Bittoo Jee Bhat as vice president, Ramesh Koul as general secretary, Sushil Kumar as publicity secretary and Ashwani as secretary/ treasurer.
