JAMMU, June 23: A meeting was held at Jagti under the chairmanship of Pintoo Ji in which various issues confronting Jagti inmates were discussed. The meeting appealed the Government to address the burning issues immediately.
While addressing Pintoo Ji and all the members expressed their concern that Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha visited Jagti many times and spoke about various schemes and their implementation and laid foundation stone of play ground. He promised for construction of duplex Community Hall, but practically till date nothing has been done. The main road from Kandoli to Jagti and internal by lanes are in dilapidated condition. There are numerous potholes erosion and wear leading to uneven road surfaces causing accidents.
The meeting demanded that the Relief Department should immediately install street lights as the camp inmates feel harassment especially during the late hours due to darkness at the main road.
It said the Government has constructed police guard room at the entry and exit points and lakhs of rupees have been utilized but till date no police guards have been deputed.
It has been the long demand of Jagti inmates to repair and renovate the buildings which are in dilapidated shape and need fresh coats of paint using durable, weather-resistant paint, the meeting said.
It said the Government has constructed more than 130 shops but unfortunately till date no firm decision has been taken by the Relief Department to allot such shops to CDR holders who have deposited their CDRs in the year 2011.
Time and again Relief Department has been requested to install stabilizer which can maintain constant voltage at the filtration plant where from water supply is being supplied to camp but our request fell flat, resulting camp inmates facing tremendous scarcity of the water in these days.
