Jagti to have new Post Office: Samuel

JAMMU, July 26: Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle, John Samuel announced the opening of new Post Office at Jagti town in Nagrota, here today.
He said that the new Post Office will benefit more than 10,000 people. The announcement was made by Samuel while reviewing the functioning of Post Offices in Jammu and Samba districts.
“A large Post Office building for Rehari has been identified on BC Road. Since Rehari Post Office is one of the major Post Offices of Jammu city with 9 Officials catering the areas like Rehari, New Plot, Sarwal, Amphalla etc, its modernization will definitely encourage the people to visit Post Office and avail variety of services, ” said Samuel.
Considering the importance of Samba Post Office, it will be made to function in a new building, so that it can cater to the needs of newly established administrative units there with larger area, said Samuel.
He further disclosed that decision to modernize the Sainik Colony Post Office under the transformation campaign has also been taken.
The CPMG impressed that under the transformation plan more than 20 Post Offices have been modernized and now recruitment process for the posts of Postmen and other supporting staff is going on in the State and youth have shown keen interest to serve the society by becoming the part of Department of Posts.
