Jagti township inmates’ concern over denial of flour, water scarcity

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 9: The inmates of Jagti township have shown their serious concern over the apathy of Government agencies towards them.
In a statement, Sunil Pandita a social activist has accused Government agencies for withholding the quota of flour to migrants since March this year. He demanded immediate release of flour and sugar quota to relief holders as they are unable to purchase the same in market on exorbitant rates because they have no other source of income except the meagre cash doles given by the Government.
While expressing serious concern over acute water scarcity in Jagti township, he said that despite repeated pleas no steps were taken by Government in improving the water supply to the township as prevailing water supply scheme turns defunct in rainy season. The authorities failed to pay attention to the same and sanction a viable water supply scheme for the township as 4000 families putting up in Jagti township are put to problems due water scarcity especially in Monsoon and Winter months.
He said despite repeated please concerned authorities failed to solve the problem due to which inmates of township are constrained to take to streets.
