Jain heads AOI Gangyal

JAMMU, Nov 16: Virendra Jain has been elected as president while Sanjay Langar as general secretary of the Association of Industries, Gangyal.
The election of the Association was held here today under the supervision of Election Committee members– Vipin Sharma, Ganesh Koul, Sunil Gandotra, Ajit Khajuria and Manu Sharma.
The polling for the six posts of office bearers of the Association for the term 2024-26, started at 10 am and concluded at 4 pm. The counting process commenced at 4.30 pm and ended at 7 pm.
Virendra Jain secured 182 votes against 139 votes polled by sitting president Tejwant Singh Reen and was declared as new president of the Association for two years’ term.
In a close contest, SB Abrol was elected as senior vice president. He secured 159 votes against 157 polled by Ashok Kumar Jain. Sandeep Ohri was declared elected as vice president and he secured 184 votes against 132 bagged by Vijay Kumar Sharma.
Sanjay Langar was elected as general secretary. He bagged 169 votes against 152 polled by A S Sachdev. Ajay Mahajan was elected as secretary. He secured 164 votes against 155 bagged by Anil Kumar Raina. Jatinder Singh was declared elected as treasurer of the Association. He secured 186 votes against 131 bagged by Lavinder Singh Puri.
