Jain, Taneja on J&K visit to check transition, implementation of EPF&MP Act

JAMMU, Apr 7: FA & CAO, EPFO, Hemant Jain and K.L Taneja, ACC (HQ)-Delhi, Uttrakhand, J&K and Ladakh along with other officers of EPFO visited here on a two day visit to J&K to take stock of implementation of EPF&MP Act, 1952 and ongoing transition of JKEPFO to EPFO.
They were welcomed by Regional PF Commissioner-I, Rizwan Uddin.
On first day of the visit, an interactive session was conducted with employers and members by Hemant Jain and K.L Taneja along with other officers of EPFO including Rajiv Bisht, Additional Central P.F Commissioner; Sanjay Bisht, Regional P.F Commissioner-I; M.M Ashraf, Regional P.F Commissioner-I; Rizwan Uddin, Regional P.F Commissioner-I; Satish Kaul, Resident Director from M/s Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Suresh Sharma, Retired HC Judge; Lalit Mahajan from Industries Association Bari Brahmana; S.L Sharma, M/s Gurjeet Labour Contractor; Nanobha from M/s Sai Santosh and many others.
Taneja addressed the gathering and apprised that employees in J&K and Ladakh are now entitled to Pension and enhanced quantum of insurance (under EDLI Scheme- a maximum of Rs. 7 lakh can be released to nominee of deceased member from November, 2019 – after implementation of Employees’ PF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 in the two UTs.
He emphasised on the need to fast track the process of e-nominations to avail hassle free online settlement of claims.
Hemant Jain appreciated the progress of e-nominations completed by Establishments of J&K as the Zone got felicitated for being second in All India level.
He welcomed suggestions from employers and assured that the issues would be duly examined and redressed. Being the Head of Investment of EPFO, he informed that EPFO funds are being investment in most secured manner as per Investment Pattern notified by Ministry of Finance.
Thereafter, a felicitation programme was held in the Regional Office, Jammu for employees Sanjeev Kumar (SSSA), Raja Ramanna (SSSA), Ketan Saxena (SSSA), Pranav Gupta (ASO), Arun Kumar (SSSA), Kanchan (DEO) and Archana (DEO) for their consistent performance. EPFO, Jammu settled three thousand claims in previous three days.
