JAMMU, June 24: Vigilance Organization registered case against Deepak Sharma, District Officer JAKEDA, Ramban for misappropriation of Rs 7,93,749 meant for installation of Gobar Gas Plant in the district.
According to the FIR, during enquiry conducted into the allegations of misappropriation of public funds Additional DC Ramban found that no Gobar Gas Plant was installed in the district and the funds meant for the same were misappropriated. It was also found that funds meant for conducting ITI training camps in Ramban and Banihal were embezzled and no such training camps was organized.
The enquiry further revealed that District Officer JAKEDA Deepak Sharma in connivance with other officials of the department fraudulently withdrew an amount of Rs 4,93,749 from Government treasury in March 2012 on account of installation/ construction of Gobar Gas Plants. In furtherance of criminal conspiracy, Deepak Sharma withdrew an amount of Rs 2 lakh meant for training camps in ITI Ramban and Banihal.
