JAKFED staff defers strike

JAMMU, May 12: Thirteen days long strike by the JAKFED employees was today deferred on the assurance of Minister for Cooperatives Dr Manohar Lal Sharma that demands of the employees would be conceded on May 14.
A deputation of the JAKFED employees led by INTUC vice president Jugal Kishore Sharma met Dr Sharma this morning and apprised him of demands of the employees.
Dr Sharma announced that he would visit JAKFED premises on May 14 and himself announce that demands of the employees have been conceded. On assurance of the Minister, the JAKFED employees deferred their strike till May 14.
The JAKFED employees have been demanding implementation of Sixth Pay Commission recommendations in their favour.
