UDHAMPUR, July 19: Up in arms against alleged apathy of PDD and PWD, locals of Jakheni area held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protesting people assembled at ST Mohalla and raised slogans against the District administration and both the departments for their alleged failure to provide basic necessities in the area, which lacks good road and smooth supply of electricity.
They lamented that despite being located hardly a kilometer from the district headquarter, the area was deprived of basic necessities.
They also threatened to block the National Highway if the concerned authorities do not pay attention to their grievances and address the same.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Peer Gulzaar Shah, Mohd Yakub, Bansi Lal, Pritam Chand, Rajesh Kumar and others.
