Visitors are bound to increase in coming summer pilgrim rush.
Inaugurated during peak summer, the zoo is experiencing initial hiccups. The zoo currently has a limited number of operational e-rickshaws for transporting visitors within the zoo area, and unprecedented rushes with occasional breakdowns of the existing limited e-rickshaws are making things a bit difficult for the visitors. The limited number of animals can be a significant stumbling block. Zoos are to provide educational and recreational opportunities for visitors while also promoting conservation efforts and the well-being of animals. Without a diverse and sufficient animal population, objectives are challenging to achieve. Visitors are here to see a wide variety of animal species. The limited number of animals may lead to decreased visitor interest, resulting in fewer visitors and potentially affecting the financial sustainability of the zoo.
The newly established Jambu Zoo has significant potential for improvement and expansion. The zoo authorities must address the shortcomings highlighted by visitors and take prompt remedial action. The introduction of major attractions like Asiatic Lions, Bengal Tigers, Ghariyals, Sloth Bears, and Marsh Crocodiles is planned within the next few months, taking into account improvements in the summer conditions. The administration has ambitious plans for the zoo, and with collective efforts, many aspects can be resolved smoothly. With its extensive area and well-provided amenities, Jambu Zoo has the potential to become a popular destination and a hub of activity in Jammu.
