JAMMU, Nov 28: In a unique initiative of district administration Jammu towards providing Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of rental payment to the owners of land being used by Army along International Border and Line of Control, Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan, today released an amount of Rs.2.33 crore directly to the beneficiaries through digital mode.
The released amount included the rental compensation as well as arrears which were pending since a long.
The recipients included 737 beneficiary of Village Ambaran, 166 of Village Bandral Kalan of Tehsil Akhnoor, 35 of Village Nagrota, 10 from Jammu North and 4 beneficiaries of Tehsil Suchetgarh.
The adoption of digital mode of transfer of rental compensation to the beneficiaries provides a transparent, fast and a trustworthy system of calculation of rent and making of payment with different level of checks to avoid slippage.
Pertinently, the district administration Jammu has released a total of Rs.9.00 crore during the current financial year.
