SRINAGAR, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out search operations at the residences of the banned organizations in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police on Thursday said they carried out a search operation at the residence of Irfan Ahmed Kababi in the Jalal Sahib area of old town Baramulla in connection with case FIR No.12/2024 U/S 10,13 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Police said Kababi is a member of the banned Muslim League.
” During the search incriminating materials like posters and i-card of Muslim league were seized. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and purpose of these materials,” police said.
Police also conducted a raid in Kanispora Baramulla in connection with a case registered under the UAPA.
A police team carried out a search operation at the residence of Abdul Rashid Gilkar of Tawheed Colony, Kanispora.
Police said Gilkar is the District President of the banned Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party.
The raid was conducted in connection with case FIR No. 13/2024 U/S 10, 13 UAPA at Police Station Baramulla.
Over the last few days Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out raids at multiple locations across the valley including the houses of separatist leaders Abdul Gani Bhat, Masarat Alam and Shabir Shah, as part of ongoing investigations into cases registered under UAPA. (Agencies)
