JAMMU : The state unit of National Panthers Party(NPP) and Bhartiya Janata Party today raised the issue of ‘power shortage’ in the ongoing Budget session here.
NPP leader of the opposition Harsh Dev Singh said people are suffering due to erratic power supply in the state adding, “there is a complete mess in the state Power Development Department(PDD) and people are facing crunch of electricity supply.”
The BJP legislator Ashok Khajuria also raised the issue asserting that despite paying regular bills, the people of Jammu are not being provided regular power supply due to which they are facing hardships.
MLA Lal Chand amid slogans against the PDD, staged sit-in into the well of the house demanding immediate solution to the crisis.
The legislators said there is no policy in the PDD wing which has affected day to day life of a common man.
They also criticised the Power Development Department for not providing regular supply of electricity to the people especially in the rural belts.
