JAMMU, Nov 28: The parents of Jammu based reserved category employees serving in Kashmir have appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to frame a transfer policy and shift their wards facing life threat in Kashmir to Jammu region.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club of Jammu here today, the aggrieved parents of these agitating reserved category employees said that they were deeply saddened by the way these employees were being treated by the LG led administration. It is unfortunate that their salaries hae also been withheld by the concerned DDOs. They are being slapped with letters regarding resumption of duties, biometric attendance, absconding from duties etc.
The parents expressed their anguish and grave concern to the authorities over the current prevailing situation in Kashmir valley where there is now even a greater risk regarding safety and security of lives of their sons and daughters.
“It’s been a tough year for parents,” said a parent namely Mohan Lal Radha of one of the employees. Click here to watch video
“I am also a mother, so it’s my duty to come to the rescue of my child when the government, being the custodian of my ward who happen to be an employee, have raised their hands to help them navigate these difficult times,” another employee’s mother said.
“There’s really no reason to think that it’s not the right time to go back as all the incidents of non-locals being getting targeted for their lives suggests that the situation in Kashmir valley is not safe for resuming and performing duties by their sons and daughters both in terms of security and safety of their lives as well staying in an insecure rented accommodation,” another parent of an employee said.
“As an aging and dependents parents, we have suffered a lot for past 15 years or so. Many of us are required to visit for routine checkups in hospitals and have undergone medical treatments and surgeries and need the physical presence of our children mostly. But most of the times they have failed to perform their moral duties as well as compromised on societal obligations.  As the salary of the employees are withheld for past 2 to 5 months resultantly failing to perform even financials obligations, now parents and societies as a whole are in a continuous state of despair and mental trauma and totally distressed with regard to the current prevailing security situations and financial condition of families,” another parent regretted.
“If inter-district recruit policy can be made, then why can’t the transfer policy. There is no justification in keeping them in the same place till retirement age is attained. They have every right to return back to their home district in Jammu Division after being served for more than 15 years,” he added.
They warned in case these demands are not fulfilled and any untoward happens to these employees, the Government and LG Administration would be held responsible and have to face the severe consequences from the society as whole.
