JAMMU, Nov 2: All Jammu Based Reserve Category Employees Association Kashmir (AJBRCEAK), members serving in different departments in various districts of Kashmir division are protesting continuously, demanding a suitable comprehensive transfer policy at an earliest.
The employees are protesting at Ambedkar Chowk for last 155 days. Since the situation in the Kashmir valley is still not conducive for these employees to resume their duties in the valley, they have refused to resume their duties there.
The Association is hopeful that their genuine demand of transfer policy will be fulfilled shortly. They alleged that some DDOs in Kashmir have stopped the salary of many employees. These employees are being forced by the DDO’s to resume their duties for withdrawal of their salaries. If DDOs take the responsibility of safety and security of these employees then they will resume their duties, if not then strict orders should be issued to such DDO’s not to force the minority employees to resume their duties under such circumstances and their salaries should be released as early as possible.
One of the protesting employee said these employees are hand to mouth earners and it is not possible for them to meet their both ends. The employees have full faith on LG Administration. The employees whose salaries are withheld are very hopeful that their salaries will be credited in their accounts. The employees are protesting for a long time in Jammu to get a suitable comprehensive transfer policy for the safety of their lives.
AJBRCEA has appealed LG Administration to intervene into the matter and instruct such DDOs not to harass these employees, release their salaries and revoke such orders with regard to resumption of duty.
The employees thanked LG Administration for reconstituting a six- member committee under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary Higher Education for transfer policy. The employees on the other hand are very disappointed that the committee has not submitted its recommendations even after 95 days since the first committee was framed. They also sought intervention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in to the matter.
