JAMMU, Oct 18: A wreath laying ceremony was organized in honour of the brave martyr Sepoy Sudees Kumar who laid down his life guarding the nation’s frontiers while serving at the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri sector.
The ceremonial military send off was held at Jammu, today morning. Maj Gen Sanjeev Sharma, GOC, Tiger Division ,Station Commander Nagrota, Dy GOC and Station Commander Jammu, Adminis-trative Commandant Jammu and Commanding Officer of White Knight Corps Engineering Signal Regiment laid the wreaths. The wreaths were also laid on behalf of Lieutenant General Ashok Ambre, GOC, Rising Star Corps and Lieutenant General AK Sharma, GOC, White Knight Corps.
The mortal remains of martyred soldier were then sent by service aircraft to the native village for performing the last rites.
Sepoy Sudees Kumar belonged to Sambhal District of Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his old and aged parents, young wife and a 4 month old daughter.
He had joined the Army in 2013, being the first from his village to do so. He was a thorough professional and loved his job to the core. The Nation will remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and his devotion to duty will continue to motivate the future generations.
