Jammu boy gets PM’s Bal Puraskar

A 13 year old boy of Channi Himmat Jammu did proud to Jammu and Kashmir by being one of the 32 winners of this year’s Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Bal Puraskar -2021. A student of class 8th, this boy , by winning the award in recognition of preparing a mobile App connected with the security of women during Corona lockdown , brought accolades to his school and his family . While we congratulate Harmanjot Singh for his brilliant efforts in doing something new , we wish him all the success in his zeal to be more innovative and setting examples, in the years to come , for others to emulate.
Well , perhaps what he did , he never expected that he would get any prize or something like that but he got due recognition at the national level and received appreciation from the Prime Minister and also found his name among the winners of the award for this year which was announced on the eve of the Republic Day. The boy is something different from an average in that he has many badges in his kitty like winning awards at zonal, national and international level Olympiads . He is an outstanding coder and has been declared as one of the youngest Game, Androids and IOS App developers. His contribution of “Raksha” – an App based on women safety, was selected for prestigious Silicon Valley Code of Honour certificate and published in Google Play Store.
While there is will, there is not only the way and no room for alibis, difficulties and hardships but getting due recognition, reward and dividends for using precious time for achieving something noticeable. The boy did not get disheartened due to the restrictions of different hues which Corona lockdown brought in its wake but made the best use of the period , besides his usual studies , in achieving the feat under reference earning a prestigious national award. We earnestly wish many boys and girls in the UT getting motivated by Harmanjot Singh.
