Excerpts of the Interview
How did you get the chance to play a role in Mission Impossible 6 ?
I guess it was my luck as I saw an advertisement in the local newspaper about this and I applied it online for this. As per the requirement I sent few photos and answered general questions. The casting company Monrach invited me to their office and clicked some more pictures of mine and they were looking for few young Indian males with some experience or knowledge of Indian Army.
As I did my schooling from Army school Ratnuchak and also I used to be a cadet of NCC during my school days so I have some knowledge about military which was the one of the reasons for my selection. I have been told by the company that my age, physical appearance is perfect for the role.
What is Mission Impossible 6 about ?
Mission Impossible is a series of action spy thriller movies and its a huge brand worldwide. When I say huge means like they are a massive brand in the film industry. Back to back super-hit movies since 1996. About the Mission Impossible 6 sorry I can’t disclose as per the contract. I will might have a small role but working with Tom Cruise is a very big thing for me.
How you seen all Mission Impossible Movies before getting a chance to play a role in Mission Impossible 6 ?
Oh definitely yes, I am a huge fan of Tom Cruise since my childhood. I have seen all the series of MI. He is my favorite actor after Salman Khan.
Thomas Cruise Mepother IV known professionally as Tom Cruise is an American actor and producer. He has won numerous awards for his performance. How can you describe working with him ?
Its pretty hard to describe as its like dream come true, if you get a chance to see your favorite actor you feel amazing but here I got a chance to work with him so obviously its something I never thought and very hard to express like I don’t have the exact words to say.
But yes working with such a great legend is just awesome!
What kind of preparation you had to undertake for this project ?
We had to undergo a few days of army training which actually already started couple of days ago, we are doing lots of physical training, army marching, action and stunt training, handling of guns and how to use them safely. As health and safety in Hollywood is most important. These guys use real guns and rifles in the movies and I got a chance to learn how to handle heavy guns and how to operate them in reality.
We have been issued Army uniforms and on very first day when we had photo shoot after wearing the Indian Army uniform I was surprised to see myself in the mirror I was feeling very strong from inside and felt really proud to wear the Army uniform as I have a huge respect for my actual soldiers who are working very hard protect our borders.” Big salute to them”
How did your family members react on receiving the news ?
My family is very delighted to hear that and they congratulated me, I have many family members living in Canada and some other countries. I was getting phone calls, messages on Facebook and everyone is very happy and feeling proud. I definitely give credit to my parents as they provided me very good education and sent me to abroad for higher studies.
What is difference in Indian Working Culture and that of Newzealand Working Culture ?
There is a big difference in the working culture of both the countries, I have worked in India in a couple of jobs while I was studying and its not easy for a fresher to adjust in the working culture as you will find tough people and you don’t earn well in the beginning. Here In New Zealand everyone is treated equally they pay you well, provide good working conditions and treat you very well. Its been almost 8 years since I moved here but I miss Jammu and my country everyday.
