YRS takes out massive rally; rich tribute paid to last Dogra ruler

JAMMU, Sept 23: 130th birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, last Dogra ruler of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir princely State, was celebrated with enthusiasm across Jammu region, here today.

On the occasion, Yuva Rajput Sabha took out a massive rally in Jammu city while various social and political groups held public events to pay rich tributes to the Maharaja, a great social reformer of his times.
A large number of people visited the life-size statue of Maharaja Hari Singh near the main Tawi bridge and also at Maharaja Hari Singh Park near Jogi Gate for celebration of the birth anniversary.
The YRS activists, attired in traditional dress with some carrying swords, took out a huge motor rally from Bantalab to Tawi bridge, covering a distance of over 10 km and garlanded the Maharaja’s statue amid chanting of slogans in praise of Hari Singh and Dogras. Amid drum beats, activists of YRS were seen dancing and distributing sweets near the statue and celebrating the occasion.

Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha celebrated the birth anniversary at Maharaja Hari Singh Park. The civil society of Jammu and people from different communities and castes were involved in the programme. Tarun Chugh, BJP National General Secretary, and Prabhari of Jammu and Kashmir, was chief guest on the occasion. ex-President of the Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh; president of Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Ved Parkash, Neeraj Anand, Arun Gupta (President CCI, Rahul Sahay, Surinder Mahajan, Anoop Aggarwal, Pooja Rani, Sham Langer were among the prominent persons in the event.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, alongwith senior BJP leaders R P Singh and others as well as scion of erstwhile Royal Dogra family, Ajatshatru Singh also visited the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh and paid rich tribute on the birth anniversary.
Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) celebrated the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh as “Samajik Nyay Divas” at the Sabha Bhawan, Dogra Hall, Jammu. The celebration commenced with a floral tribute to the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Gulchain Singh Charak, President of Dogra Sadar Sabha, highlighted the immense contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh, particularly his progressive and enlightened policies that laid the foundation for social reforms and justice for all.
Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha celebrated birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh at Ghou Manhasa Jammu Office. Aadil Manhas (State President ABKM), Rishipal Singh Parmar (National President ABKM) and others highlighted great contribution of the Maharaja and paid rich tribute to him.
On the occasion, Movement Kalki organized a special tribute event. Core committee members of Movement Kalki, Thakur Arjun Singh and Sanjeev Dubey, along with other members, visited the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh and offered flowers in his memory.
Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir, led by Sunil Dimple, took out a procession, celebrating the birth anniversary at statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Bridge. Speaking on the occasion, Dimple demanded immediate restoration of Statehood to J&K and restart Darbar move practice.
The Social Reforms and Charitable Organisation (SRCO) celebrated birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh along with the special children of Ashiana Orphanage Kishtwar. Present on this occasion were Sanjeev Parihar, Daljeet Wazir, Advocate Kuldeep Sharma, Pawan Wazir, Lovemeet Parihar, Prehllad Sharma, Yashpaul Kotwal, Sparsh Parihar, Bansi Lal Shan, Kishori Lal, and others.
Social and political leader Er Rishi Kilam also paid tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh on his birth anniversary. He said that the Maharaja deserves respect and reverence for his remarkable deeds.
Reports said that the Maharaja’s birth anniversary was also celebrated in several other districts, including Samba, Kathua and Udhampur.
