JAMMU, Apr 14: Jammu Club hosted a grand cultural event on Saturday evening to mark its Foundation Day.
The event, participated by the Club members and their families, was held with great enthusiasm and showcased the region’s cultural diversity through music, dance, and traditional cuisine.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Vice President of the Club, Ramesh Kumar, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
He extended warm greetings to the club members and praised the management for organizing a vibrant celebration.
The event also coincided with Baisakhi and reflected the festive spirit of the season.
As part of the celebration, the Club premises were decorated in the style of a traditional Punjabi village complete with folk elements, selfie points, and festive lights.
A series of cultural performances, including energetic Bhangra by the Cultural Academy troupe and Dogri songs, added colour to the evening.
A solo dance performance by local artist Shaniya was also well received.
The program was anchored by Rajni, whose interactive style and fun games kept the audience engaged.
Special arrangements for children, including camel and horse rides, were among the highlights of the evening.
Secretary Gaurav Gupta addressed the gathering, extending greetings and expressing pride in the Club’s journey since its establishment on 13th April 1978.
“This day marks not just a festival but the beginning of a legacy. We honour the vision of those who came before us and reaffirm our commitment to the Club’s continued growth,” he said.
He also thanked the Divisional Commissioner, guests, artists, and the entertainment committee led by Pooja Kohli for their contributions.
Other members who played key roles included Dr Ritesh Gupta, Vasundhra Sharma, Ashwani Gupta, Vikram Dhawan, and the Club staff.
Prominent faces present included former Secretary K K Khosa and Managing Committee members Ashok Gandotra, Dr Meenakshi Kotwal, Kavita Gupta, Dr Hema Gandotra Jandial, Indu Puri, and Sidharth Samnotra.
