Srinagar, Oct 8: Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Ajaz Ahmed Khan in reply to a question by Vijay Bakaya today informed the Upper House that the Convention Complex at Jammu which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 24.61 crore is expected to be completed by the end of December 2013 subject to availability of funds.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Planning and Development, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma in reply to a question by Naresh Kumar Gupta informed the House that State Finance Commission identified development backlog in certain districts of the State including Doda. The report, he said, is under consideration of the Government.
He said that the separately, Government of India constituted a Special task Force (STF) to prepare a report on the development needs of Jammu and Ladakh regions. Accordingly, the STF have indentified projects in both the regions for implementation under funding from the Annual Plan (State sector component).
An Amount of Rs 250 crore was provided through the last year’s plan and Rs 300 crore has been inbuilt in current year’s Annual Plan.
