Jammu dharamshalla also washed away in Uttarakhand

JAMMU, July 10: A Jammu dharamshalla at Kedarnath Dham was also washed away along with hundreds of dharamshallas and shopping complexes on fateful night  of June 16 and morning of June 17 cloudburst.
The two Prohits of Kedarnath who were in charge of J&K Girish Tiwari and his uncle Narinder Tiwari were also washed away in flashfloods. However, Girish after being dragged by floods to a distance caught hold of a grill of a building and managed to escape the flood furry while his uncle was drowned in flood water and buried under huge mulba.
This was stated by Anand Tiwari, Tirath Prohit Kedarnath who was at Gouri Kund and had gone under the nightmarish experience on this fateful day when cloudburst followed by flashfloods spelled a doom in entire Kedarghati killings thousands of people and destroying a large number of buildings temples etc.
Anand Tiwari saw the death of his five Prohit colleagues who were washed away in flashfloods of Mandhakni river. Tiwari said death was in front of him also and he too was trapped in mulba for three hours. Seeing no alternative to escape, he recited Maha Mritinjaya Mantra. After the water level receded to some extent he managed to ascend the hill top and remained there for three days where from he was rescued by an Army helicopter and brought to Gupt Kashi.
He said Girish Tiwari who managed to rescue himself from flash floods remained trapped at Kedarnath for six days and later he too was rescued by Army.
He said they tried to find out the whereabouts of three Jammu families but could not get any clue of them also.
He said Divya Drishti Sansthan Kendra Gandhi Nagar Jammu has also started collecting donations for the victims of the Kedarnath especially the Jyotshi Parivars.
