In a statement, PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has said that people of most parts of Jammu region are facing acute shortage of drinking water and the authorities have failed to meet minimum needs of the people. There is no proper supplies and the required number of water tankers have also not been pressed in to service. The common people are forced to spend to arrange for private water tankers to meet their requirements of drinking water.
He said the poor and common man is heavily over burdened but have no other option as the Government has failed to meet its basic duty. The Government must immediately provide adequate number of water tankers/tractor trolleys to supply drinking water to different parts.

The Government must wake up to the situation and take stock of the entire scenario in different parts including rural belt and take urgent measures in this regard, he maintained.
