The organisers of Jammu Festival – 2013 deserve kudos. Now Jammu Festival has become a permanent feature and every effort must be made to make it successful and more vibrant. It is not merely an festival which may last for some days and be forgotten till it is again held in the same manner and in the same month. It is exhibition of wisdom of people of Jammu which has been accumulated since time immemorial.
It is through this festival that cultural heritage which includes local cuisine, art, costumes etc can be exhibited for the benefit of present and coming generations. The Jammu Festival is an excellent platform for connecting the past with the present and the present with the future of Jammuites. Those who participate in it will appreciate the fact that it can provide social scientists, art connoisseurs and anthropologists opportunities to learn and gain information in their respective fields. The organisers have done their bit, it is now for people to participate in it and contribute their bit in a manner they deem fit.
