Jammu gangster Royal Singh arrested in Punjab

JAMMU, May 2: Gangster Royal Singh of Jammu has been arrested from Kapurthala road in Punjab by a team of Crime Branch Punjab along with 800 grams of heroin.
Royal Singh is reportedly involved in the killing of Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan of Jammu recently at Mohali. Besides Royal, Mohali police is also searching supari killer Sarpreet Singh Raja of Jammu and Manjeet Singh.
Royal, a resident of Dalpatian Mohalla in Jammu, was bailed out by the court in January 2022 in Amandeep murder case. Later, he was also booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) but his detention was quashed.
Jammu Police officials were, however, yet to confirm the arrest of Royal Singh.
Reports said Royal Singh was involved in drug smuggling at Doaba in Punjab. When intercepted by Crime Branch team of Punjab Police, he tried to escape but was arrested.
Jammu Police could seek custody of Royal Singh after completion of investigations by Punjab Police to ascertain whether he was involved in drug smuggling racket in Jammu and Kashmir also or was operating in Punjab only.
