Jammu girl’s third book hits stands

JAMMU, Aug 24: Jammu girl Geetika Kohli an internationally acclaimed writer, released her third book of poetry, `nothingness at Boiling Point’ at the Press Club of India , New Delhi on Sunday.
The event was chaired by Commodore Dilip Mohapatra, vice president, Global Learning and Development, Suzlon Group of Companies who also happens to be the father of renowned singers, Sona Mohapatra and Pratichee Mohapatra. The other chief guests included Anand Kumar, Chairman, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Sri Subroto Bando well known Bengal actor and poet. Several other noted dignitaries from Delhi were also present. The event was organized by Sudershan K Cherry, MD, Authorspress; Ms. Monica Sharma of Delhi hosted the show.
The ceremony began with Mr Dilip enlightening the assemblage about the relevance of modern literature and the growing importance of reading contemporary poetry. He also talked about two of his latest books, Another Look’ and `Points to Ponder’. This was succeeded by the dignitaries releasing Geetika’s book. Geetika mused about how her solitary life in Chennai catalyzed the writing of this third gem, that explores the colours of nothing but `nothingness’. Geetika also recited some pieces from the collection and was lauded by the guests and the audience.
Commodore Dilip, said Geetika has made an attempt to define the contours of invisibility and perhaps to give shape to the shapeless within the haze of translucence and mist of mysticism.
The event concluded with rest of the dignitaries commending Geetika’s work and Geetika singing copies for the audience.
