Jammu migrants demand ration, arrears of relief

JAMMU, Oct 25: A meeting of Jammu Migrants Welfare Committee Headquartered at Belicharana near here was held today under the chairmanship of Suraj Ran, president of the committee.
During the course of meeting various issues were discussed in detail and various problems of the Jammu migrants were highlighted.
While speaking to the participants Suraj Rana expressed his grave concern over the slackness of the Relief Organization in releasing the ration which has been kept withheld for last over four months for migrants putting up at Jammu while the migrants putting up at  Panthal Katra, Reasi, and Udhampur are deprived of ration supply facilities for past more than a year.
Rana has further said that though these migrants registered with Relief organization are entitled to arrears on account of cash assistance relief form the date the assistance at par with Kashmiri migrants has been sanctioned by the Government but the same has not been released till date.
He made an appeal to the Relief Commissioner, Relief Organisation(M) Jammu for ensuring release of ration and arrears of cash assistance before Diwali Festival enabling them to celebrate Diwali with full religious fervor and can also meet other domestic needs.
Prominent among others who were present in the meeting include Wali Mohd Khan, Satish Kumar, Joginder Singh, Kunj Lal, Mohd. Qayoom, Sanjay Kumar etc.
