JAMMU, May 8: Jammu Motors launched all new Bajaj CT 100 here, today in presence of BAL, officials, dealers, financers and customers.
As per a release, Bajaj Auto, the home grown automaker has brought back its popular commuter bike the CT 100-in India. It may be recalled that the company had discontinued this bike in 2006. The vehicle has been made available in two variants spoke and alloy-priced at Rs 36,345 (ex show room Jammu) respectively. At the price, the CT 100 has become the country’s most affordable bike.
The CT 100 is built on the similar double cradle frame that also underpins the Platina. Powering the motorcycle is a 99.3ccc, single-cylinder engine, that mated to a four speed transmission, churns out 8.1bhp and 8.05 Nm. The similar engine also powers the Platina and Discover 100. The CT 100 is claimed to return an ARAI certified mileage of 89.5 kmpl. Talking about the suspension setup, the bike has a conventional hydraulic suspension at the front and Bajaj’s SNS suspension at the rear.
A Jammu Motors handout issued here today said that with such an aggressive pricing , one thing is very clear that Bajaj is targeting small city and rural buyers who wish to own an affordable and fuel -efficient commuter motorcycle.
