Rs 1.99 lakh fine imposed

JAMMU, June 21: Jammu Police today challaned 501 persons and realized a fine of Rs 1,99,400 from their possession for not wearing face masks in violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said 501 persons were challaned in 24 Police Stations of Jammu districts.
A fine of Rs 1,99,400 was imposed on the violators of COVID guidelines, he added.
Maximum 80 persons were challaned by Channi Himmat Police Station while maximum fine of Rs 20,000 was imposed by Jhajjar Kotli Police Station which booked 40 violators of Corona guidelines, Kohli said.
Arnia Police Station challaned 10 persons and realized fine of Rs 5000, Akhnoor Police Station challaned 13 persons and imposed fine of Rs 1800, Bakshi Nagar Police challaned seven persons and took Rs 3500 fine while Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station challaned 10 persons and received fine of Rs 5000.
Bishnah Police challaned 15 persons and realized Rs 7500 worth fine, Bus Stand Police challaned seven persons and imposed Rs 3500 worth fine, City Police Station challaned 18 persons and received Rs 9000 fine while Domana Police Station challaned 28 persons and imposed Rs 11,500 worth fine.
Gandhi Nagar Police Station challaned 12 persons and realized Rs 6000 fine, Gangyal Police Station challaned 21 persons and obtained Rs 10,500 fine, Gharota Police Station booked 20 violators of COVID guidelines and imposed Rs 10,000 fine.
Janipura Police Station challaned 15 persons and took Rs 7500 fine, Kanachak Police Station challaned 17 persons and realized Rs 8500 fine, Khour Police Station booked 14 persons and received Rs 5800 fine while Miran Sahib Police Station challaned five persons and secured Rs 1500 fine from them.
Nagrota Police Station challaned 16 persons and imposed Rs 8000 fine, Nowabad Police Station challaned 22 persons and imposed Rs 11,000 fine while minimum three challans were done by Peer Mitha Police Station with Rs 1500 worth fine on the defaulters.
RS Pura Police Station challaned 28 persons and received Rs 14,000 fine, Satwari Police Station booked 25 persons and got Rs 12,000 fine while Trikuta Nagar Police Station imposed Rs 14,000 fine on 60 defaulters.
