Jammu records season’s maximum 40.3 degree Celsius temperature

JAMMU, May 1: The Winter Capital of the State today recorded season’s maximum 40.3 degree Celsius temperature thus forcing the people to stay indoors.
“The mercury has started rising in the State with Jammu witnessing season’s maximum 40.3 degree Celsius today and minimum was recorded at 25.9 degree Celsius,” a MeT official said.
He said that the temperature continuously kept rising for the past four-five days and this afternoon it crossed the 40 degree mark.
On April 30, the maximum temperature was recorded 38.5 degree Celsius and minimum was 20.9 degree Celsius. On April 29 the maximum recorded was 37.2 degree Celsius and minimum 18.9 degree Celsius and on April 28 the maximum temperature was recorded 34.8 degree Celsius and minimum was 20.2 Degree Celsius.
“There will be no respite in the rising temperature in the coming days and the people will face more heat,” said an official.
However, the city roads today wore deserted look due to the rising mercury level and heat wave while being it a restricted holiday on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti, some of the school and offices also remained off and people preferred to stay indoors.
