SAMBA, Sept 29: BJP Pradesh vice president and former Minister Surjeet Singh Slathia today stated that people of the Jammu region remained neglected during successive governments, now the time has come to realize their aspirations.
On the concluding day of his election campaign, Slathia, who is the BJP candidate for Samba Assembly constituency said that the past over five years witnessed a huge transformation as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yet much more is required to be done on priority to place Jammu and Kashmir on the pedestal of holistic development with opportunities of empowerment to all, especially the youth, irrespective of region, religion or caste.
He said that Jammu deserves a fair and better deal to end the era of despondency decades. Despite being assimilative and inclusive in character, Jammu had always been pushed to the wall due to political exigencies of the elite ruling class in the past, but the trend has changed post abrogation of Article 370.
“The BJP is committed to a robust and forward looking concept of development, progress and participatory spirit in governance. The party has succeeded in ensuring that no region, sub-region or section of people has hegemony over others that had remained the theme of the Congress, National Conference and the PDP during their tenures in government,” he said.
Slathia called upon the people to support the BJP for holistic and all round development of Jammu during the ensuing civic polls.
