The Metrolite system, designed for cities with lower ridership, is a cost-effective solution to ease urban mobility challenges. Its benefits-reducing congestion, improving air quality, and boosting economic activity-far outweigh the financial concerns delaying its approval.
The Union Government must expedite the approval process and avoid further delays in starting this vital project.
Public transportation is essential, not a luxury, and the people of Jammu and Srinagar deserve timely access to a modern and efficient transit system. Swift action is crucial for the region’s development and the well-being of its citizens.
