Jammu Taxi operators seek action against outside vehicles

JAMMU, July 8: All India Taxi, Sumo, Tempo Owners’ Union, Jammu has appealed the Transport Department to act tough against the private cars/taxies registered outside J&K who are operating in any part of J&K.
The president of the union, Jagjeet Singh, said that there are some Taxi Operators in Jammu who are arranging vehicles from Punjab and other States to the pilgrims in Jammu causing heavy loss to the local taxi operators.
He appealed the State administration and concerned department not to allow in any manner operation of private cars/taxies registered outside J&K to lift the passengers for any station either in J&K or outside J&K, from Jammu. He further said that such vehicles should be heavily challaned.
